This was christened "The Smooth Cruise". The notion of the Smooth Cruise was an idea conceived byCharles Kux-Kardos, an enterprising entrepreneur who owns the Alaska Hotel, just 55 paces south of the Mile Zero at the start of the famed Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek. In celebration of rendezvous 92, Charles wanted to change the image of the Alcan Highway to one from " I drove the Alaska Highway and lived" to " Smooth enough for a Rolls".
